THE CLUB HEADLINERS ARE HAWT! ARE YOU "ADDICT-ED 2 CHOPPS"? WE ARE!

This review for me is all about connections. If it had not been for the fact that Fetty Bu had posted DJ Chopp's hot 80's Mash-up in her September favorite list on Fetty Be's Buzz and DJ Chopp stumbling on it, we may not have connected with The Club Headliners. However, that speculation is questionable too based on my read of DJ Chopps....He is a very determined individual with a driving force to succeed and his history reflects that. He and the other big playa in The Club Headliners DJ Addict, were one of the first DJ teams to approach The Buzz about participating in the DJ Survey. It was with this tenacity that lead Chopps to re-establish a lost connection and friendship that he originally had with DJ Addict. After re-discovering one another on MySpace and learning that they were both producing...The Club Headliners were born! Talk about paths crossing and destinies that were meant to be. These NYC DJ's have been re-united and this time they are on a collective mission to take their new identity "to the top"! As a crew, DJ Chopps tends to be the promoter and market manager who contributes to the creative direction of the crew. DJ Addict is the guardian of the creative process and ensures quality work is completed. The beauty of this combo crew is that they appreciate all genres of music and are not afraid to cross boundaries for the sake of creating a provocative mix. It comes naturally for both of these DJ's and music is part of their respective histories....it's in the blood so to speak. In an unorthodox approach, The Buzz will share two surveys for this DJ crew, with the hopes that The Buzz readers get a chance to sample DJ's "voice" and reflections. These boyz are worth checkin' out....They each have a unique 80's Mash that is well-known amongst the DJ community as being complete "dope" amongst a vast collection of impressive mixes that can be purchased at http://www.campmash.com/. Their work can also be heard on their respective MySpace sites and these songs are also available for sale!! It's definitely worth checkin' this DJ crew out. They are on a mission to not only give you complete dancing satisfaction, but also to achieve their dreams. This is mashin' in it's truest form - it's just the right amount of Chopps added to just the right amount of Addict, to create the absolutely perfect product called, "The Club Headliners"! Take some time now to read their story...it's real, it's heartfelt and genuine. The DJ Surveys are colorful and will give you great insight into the minds and thoughts of The Club Headliners!
THE CLUB HEADLINERS BIO

Danny Solano aka Dj Chopps was born and raised in Long Island, NY. Coming from a family with a musical background, Dj Chopps always looked up to his brother David Diaz, who was one of the biggest Latin Agents around at the time. He represented artists such as Marc Anthony, Johnny Rivera and many other Latin artists for RMM and DME Entertainment. His brother had a dj -setup in his room. Danny would always mess around on the turntables and get in trouble for touching it. His parents then later bought him a pair of technics and a mixer at the age of 12 for Christmas. Through all of high school he was always involved in music, whether its was mixing it, or playing instruments such as the Piano, Trombone, Baritone Horn, French Horn and the Drums. The kid really knew how to read his music. Deejaying family parties as a teen really encouraged him to want to become a dj. He loved making his family dance. Blending Salsa at the age of 14 was pretty impressive for a teen. He then was brought into the night life by his cousins DJ E-Tec and DJ Sealx who were fascinated by his skills at such a young age. Chopps ended becoming a team with his cousins, which soon led to gigs at clubs at the age of 17, throughout Queens, Long Island, the Bronx and Manhattan. In time, DJ Chopps was discovered by big time club promoters in the nightclub scene. Later he landed himself spots at The Roxy Nyc, Coral Room, and Webster Hall, to name a few. At that time, Danny started producing his own remixes and blends to impress his crowd. He later then met up with a guy named Chris Saso aka Dj Addict, who used to give him mix tapes of his work to play in this local bar in Queens. They ended up losing contact and never saw each other, until a year later. Dj Chopps found him on Myspace and saw that he was into producing as well. Chopps then immediately messaged him and said, "Get to my house ASAP and let’s start making music in my studio!" They haven't looked back since!!
Chris Saso Aka Dj Addict was born and raised in Queens, New York. He too has always enjoyed the sound of music, never having a set genre. He touched his first pair of turntables at the age of 15 and started using them everyday following that. He spent alot of time mixing and scratching whatever records he could find, thus ruining a lot of his father’s records! "In 1999, Addict started playing Techno in a local nightclub in Manhattan called, Exit NYC. From then and on, he spun at many small clubs and bars throughout Queens and Manhattan. In 2002 he started producing. He states, "I love the feeling of making a track rather than spinning someone else's." He took a break from deejaying to get involved with the producing world. Going to various clubs and bars, passing out his demos. He came across a fellow DJ by the name of, "DJ Chopps". Both DJ Chopps & DJ Addict teamed up to start The DJ Crew called, "THE CLUB HEADLINERS". Working together everyday by combining different ideas and techniques in the studio, they produce Mash-Ups, House Music, Reggaeton remixes and more. Making mixtapes was a big break on their ride of producing. Both Deejays started to get increased recognition. They landed jobs throughout NYC, Miami, Detroit, New Jersey, Connecticut and more. The duo were deejaying corporate parties for magazines in Puerto Rico and also down in Costa Rica for Spring Break and a tour. Being on CampMash.com and several other Mp3 sites, had definitely opened up many doors for these guys. Opportunity abounds! Still to this day though, they love what they do and will continue to make music for as long as it possible. Their biggest dream to date is to get their name CLUB HEADLINERS out there, so that people can start appreciating their talent. Their greatest desire is to take the world by storm through touring and performing what they do best....mixin' and mashin'!

DJ CHOPPS
1. What inspired you to pick your DJ your name?

Well, I was always told by my friends that I love to cut up a song so early. To me That is called chopping it up lol, is the way to go because you get so bored if you have to listen to the same track for 4 to 5 min. I like to keep the flow moving and dancing to as many beats possible. Plus a chopp is a type of scratch that I believe I'm good at it. So, that's How I got DJ CHOPPS. lol

2. What kind of music do you like to spin?

I spin it all being that I'm half Spanish and Italian and fluent in both, I can spin from Salsa, to house music. I love it all, but prefer to Spin Hip-Hop and Mash-ups for the most part, but then again its all on how you read a crowd.

3. What and who are some of your major influences (artists, djs, etc.)?

My biggest influence would have to be my partner in crime DJ Addict. We Started The Dj Crew called The Club Headliners a while back and from there we grew to make the craziest remix team out there!

4. Biggest reward about being a DJ?

Everyone always told me I would never make it as a dj, that its way too impossible, too much competition. I never listened to anyone. I know I'm not the creme of the crop, but I will follow my dream. I just love what I do, I love producing music. I love standing in the dj booth and being in control of the party.

5. Biggest pet peeve about being a DJ?

I love the special treatment, the drinks and especially the women.

6. What is the best party you have ever spun at?

Costa Rica Club Utopia....by far the best time EVER.

7. If you could mix at a club or party anywhere, where would it be and with whom?

Ibiza, Spain with my boy Dj Addict

8. In what cities have you spun? Are you a resident DJ at any clubs right now?

I have spun in NYC obviously because thats were I'm from, but also Puerto Rico, Detroit, Miami, Conn, NJ, North Carolina, Costa Rica and the list goes on. I just cant remember because I drink too much Petron and /Coronas. Just check my Myspace page at: www.myspace.com/djchopps

9. What is the hottest club you have ever been to, either as a DJ or a patron?

That is way too hard to answer. I might have to be drunk for that one..I guess when I'm twisted I start remembering things. lol

10. Do you plan out your sets or do you play to the crowd's reactions?

I am known for reading crowds. I have no cheesy routine. I just play what I feel I should play. I get in my zone. I picture myself dancing in the club along with the crowd. It's weird, but I just know what to play.

11. If you could design a club, name three important aspects of it's layout.

Marketing is def. number 1. Then the lay out of the club, and the sound system.

12. Techno/Trance or Mash-up/Hip Hop

Mash-up/Hip Hop

13. East Coast or West Coast?

East Coast!!!!!!!!!!!!! Born and Raised

14. MAC or PC?

PC Hewlett Packard baby.....Mac is Shitty
