DJ DYNAMITE BRINGS NEW MEANING TO THE IDEA TEARIN' DOWN THE HOUSE

Coined in Swedish in the form dynamit, the word was taken from Greek word dunamis meaning “power”. It has been used to imply exceptionally wonderful and exciting sentiments, as well as inferring danger. Our next DJ appears to exude all of these characteristics when he works his magic on the decks! DJ Dynamite, who currently hails from New Jersey and was born and raised in Jamaica until he was 5 yrs. old, is an artist who has convinced us that he knows the industry like the back of his hand.

CHECK OUT DJ DYNAMITE'S ARMY!!!

He knows what works and what is redundant in the turntable biz. His knowledge is powerful and his mixes are pleasantly, "dangerous" to the voyeurs who regularly seek his musical tonic. Dynamite's work is rich with infusions of Hip-Hop, Classic Old School. various House genres and jacked with dashes of the latest Top 40 Hits, just to keep his listeners one breath short of dance floor euphoria!! Dynamite is an effective DJ who can work a crowd into a frenzy of nocturnal bliss and musical highs with just the drop of a trax! Only a DJ bearing the name of, "Dynamite", could possess a talent so coveted as that!! "My music selection really represents my personality. I'm a very open-minded person, so I tend to reach across all musical genres. I like to spin a little bit of everything. I also like to throw in those, "OH SHIT" tracks. You know the ones where you ,"Oh Shit, I know he didn't just play that? That's my joint, I haven't heard that song in years!" (DJ Dynamite, Buzz Exclusive DJ Survey 09').

DJ Dynamite With DJ Riz @ Mur Mur

Covering all genres, Dynamite's original foundation evolved out of a deep respect and admiration for the multi-faceted talents of night club industry pioneers such as: DJ Jazzy Jeff, Red Alert, Riz, Sizzahandz, Marley Marl, Tony Humphries, Todd Terry, Armand Van Helden and Funkmaster Flex. This artist's style, grew in it's complexity and individuality as his career flourished. Having spun in night clubs all over NYC, he has also been show-cased in other great party cities such as: Miami, Phily, and Atlantic City (at least 35 different venues, with repeat performances). He is currently the resident DJ at Glo Lounge in New Brunswick, NJ.

He has explored the different roles within the DJ industry and enjoyed being associated with various remix houses for a while. However, being a purist and a "true blue BBoy" at heart, he has brought his mad, life-long passion for music full circle. At the end of the day, Dynamite derives the greatest satisfaction and joy from spinning for HIS regular club "family" network in Jersey. Consequently, what this artist has learned about himself on this journey of musical self-discovery is that "seeing everybody on the dance floor having a good time and seeing them leave at the end of the night all sweaty from dancing all night." is what's most important for Dynamite in order to feel his work is successful. He also knows that he has honed his ability to read a crowd based on their dynamics and adjust his set accordingly AND on the fly! This adaptability is truly indicative of an artist that is confident in his own abilities and in working the music in such a way, he is able to masterfully mold to the set to suite the temperature of the crowd. It seems critical to reinforce an important aspect about DJ Dynamite's personality that has stood out for us throughout our interaction with him during this exclusive Buzz Survey interview process. Dynamite's possesses a genuine sage humility.

DJ Dynamite at Deko Lounge

Having been in the industry over 20 years, this is a man who's been there and done that. When asked what was his most memorable event that he has spun at, his answer wasn't a self-inflating egotistical response. He unpretentiously claimed...a house party and simply because of it's "raw energy" (DJ Dynamite, Buzz Exclusive DJ Survey 09'). He's got a fun personality with a clever sense of humor that he enjoys sharing with his listeners during the more social moments of a gig. Yet, Dynamite never strays from his mission to rock his patrons and literally "tear" the house down. It is because of this keen and intuitive sense of the perfect party "vibe", MTV has recently flagged Dynamite as one of their chosen ones!!! Currently, MTV is on 6 week casting call tour through New Jersey, searching out the perfect participants for their upcoming new reality TV show, "Hot Chicks With Bad Boys". Dynamite is the DJ who has been SELECTED to set the stage for these potentially explosive gigs! Yet as we have learned about this artist, he fears nothing but failure itself and embraces this more recent career challenge! After all, it is a well known fact that MTV has it's thumb on the pulse and heart beat of American youth culture. With this being said, only a "proven" DJ would be selected to appease the voracious appetite of highly party savvy crowd of ego-driven A-type personalities! DJ Dynamite is anything but typical and predictable. Have a listen to his sexy remixes posted on The Buzz player and/or be sure to swing by his MySpace page to sample for yourself the diversity of his remixes. You should also bookmark http://www.djdynamite.com/ for the latest updates on his most recent adventures!!

If you haven't done so already, befriend DJ Dynamite while visiting his MySpace (www.myspace.com/djdynamitemusic.com), as you can then follow his schedule and stay on top of the impressive schedule of engagements that he diligently maintains. If you have an opportunity to catch this multi-talented DJ live, we HIGHLY encourage you to do so, as it will be a night that you never forget!! Music is a powerful source of energy and creative expression. DJ Dynamite has without a doubt mastered the true art of blowing away his crowds with his uncanny ability to tap the raw, explosive potential vibe of any given party moment! This DJ truly spins to his OWN BEAT!!

OFFICIAL DJ DYNAMITE BIO

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Dynamite migrated to the USA at 5 years old. Being young and impressionable, this was the perfect time for him to be introduced the sounds of Hip Hop music. At age 14, Dynamite had his first experience of touching Technics 1200 turntables… That was the beginning of a life long musical journey.Throughout the years Dynamite has worked extremely hard to perfect his skills of mixing Hip Hop music. "After hearing a radio mix by DJ Tony Humphries, my eyes and ears were opened to this new sound of House Music." This is the opened mindedness that creates a true versatile DJ. Since his teenage years, Dynamite has rapidly evolved to become that versatile DJ. He has concurred many top venues up and down the East Coast, mixing music across all musical genres. From clubs to formal events, Dynamite is capable of adapting his sets to fit any crowd.

DJ DYNAMITE'S OFFICIAL BUZZ SURVEY RESPONSE

1. What inspired you to pick your DJ name?

It was kind of a spur of the moment thing. I wanted something that pretty much explained my style but also had a nice ring to it. My first name starts with D so for a few years I was known as DJ Dynamite D. After a while I just dropped the "D" and now I'm just "Dynamite".

2. What kind of music do you like to spin?

My music selection really represents my personality. I'm a very open-minded person so I tend to reach across all musical genres. I like to spin a little bit of everything. I also like to throw in those "OH SHIT" tracks. You know the ones where you "Oh Shit, I know he didn't just play that? That's my joint, I haven't heard that song in years!"

DJ Dynamite @ Clevelander - Miami Beach

3. What and who are some of your major influences (artists, DJ's, etc.)

I would have to say that my major influences are DJ Jazzy Jeff, Red Alert, Riz, Sizzahandz, Marley Marl, Tony Humphries, Todd Terry, Armand Van Helden and Funkmaster Flex (the old school back in the 90's version when he used to actually DJ...lol). I'm also influenced by people that I come in contact with everyday and all my fans and fellow DJ's that give me compliments and criticism on my DJ sets and remixes.

INFLUENCE DJ JAZZY JEFF

4. Biggest reward about being a DJ?

Seeing everybody on the dance floor having a good time and seeing them leave at the end of the night all sweaty from dancing all night.

DJ Dynamite With Appreciative Patrons and Fans!

5. Biggest pet peeve about being a DJ?

The stupid requests from drunk people and silly girls that think that by flirting with you they can get you to play what they wanna hear.

6. What is the best party you have ever spun at?

I'd have to say it was a house party I did back in '96. Nothing beats the raw energy of a house party!!

DJ Dynamite in the Booth @ GLO

7. If you could mix at a club or party anywhere, where would it be and with whom?

I would love to do an old school style block party. Gotta make sure my b-boys/b-girls are there too.

DJ Nicky G, DJ Dynamite, DJ Unique, Super Promoter Johnny Marc!!

8. In what cities have you spun at? Are you a resident DJ at any clubs right now?

I've spun in NYC of course, but also Miami, Phily, Atlantic City.
I'm currently the resident DJ at Glo Lounge in New Brunswick, NJ.

9. What is the hottest club you have ever been to either as a DJ or a patron?

Damn, that's a tough one. It seems like alot of clubs nowadays don't really pay attention to detail anymore. They're just concerned with bar sales and have no real atmosphere.

10. Do you plan out your sets or do you play to the crowd's reaction?

I always play to the crowd's reaction.

11. If you could design a club, name three important aspects of the layout?

The DJ Booth, the sound/lighting system and the dance floor.
