This blog is a bit overdue but I am finally sharing my experience of my first hair/makeup/fashion show at a nightclub, better known as "Makeup The Night" at Aqua Lounge in Modesto, CA. The show was put on by "Don't BE GELous" Makeup, the team is made up of two extremely talented makeup artists, Gel and Bernice. Along with Marde Polmer doing hair, Nely Hernandez, Adrian Perez and production by Roxie. Music was provided by DJ Secret, Ghetto House Radio's very own Nick G, Dirty D and bay area's Don Lynch. Things were chaotic backstage (or in VIP room) models, hairspray, makeup, flashbulbs going off, models changing and lots of laughter...and I LOVED every single bit of it!!! That is what I live for, yearn for, that organized chaos!!!!
My hair was crazy too!!! There were no mirrors in the room so I had to be trusting and hope that she was not going to shave my head (I still would have rocked it though). I ended up rocking a sky-high mohawk! First time having a mohawk and it definitely put me in that rock star state-of-mind.
All the girls looked amazing and after months of planning, hours of prepping it was finally time for the show to start. You could hear the music bumpin, the crowd waiting impatiently and the excited nervousness inside from all that were involved. Then boom! My turn to strut it!!!! Wow what a fucken high. Seeing familiar faces, knowing you looking fly, flashbulbs going off, people clappin and screaming-I wanted to do it again!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a night what a night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh and due to the gorgeous Nicole Kaleinani Blades connections, we were able to connect with the beautiful Veronica King who is the Editor-In-Chief of Glam Couture Magazine and were able to pose for her. Stay tuned, photos may be published in her September issue.
